Lewisburg - Jane Walbridge, 93, of 50 N. Third St., passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 30, 1920, in Detroit, Mich., a daughter of the late George B. and Helen (McCauley) Walbridge.
Jane graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. Following college, she served honorably in the Women’s Auxiliary Army Corp.
Jane spent most of her life serving as an Evangelistic minister, spending time in the 1970’s doing street ministry in Philadelphia with the Deliverance Evangelistic Church; she was on the faculty of their Bible Institute. She also worked as a secretary at the University of Pennsylvania.
She most recently attended Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Mifflinburg.
Jane was a philanthropist and loved helping others by donating to numerous Christian organizations.
Surviving are two nephews, Peter Walbridge and Tony Sample, both of Florida; and three nieces, Cindy Walbridge, of Oregon, Sally Werenski, of Michigan, and Terry Verzuh, of Colorado.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Orchard Hills Cemetery officiated by Pastor Stephen Payson of Providence Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Mifflinburg.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Jane’s name be made to a Christian organization of one’s choice.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
