LEWISBURG — Fay A. Criswell, 70, of 3884 Pheasant Ridge Road, passed away early Wednesday morning, Aug. 21, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
A native of Middleburg, Fay was born July 26, 1943, a daughter of the late Roy W. and Mary A. (Shambach) Bowersox. On Jan. 3, 1965, she married C. Richard Criswell, and her death breaks a marital union of almost 49 years.
Fay was a graduate of Lewisburg High School.
Fay enjoyed crocheting and cooking, was active in all aspects of the Shambach family reunions and helped her husband on the family farm.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following siblings and their spouses, Jay and Judy Bowersox, of Winfield, Guy and Martha Bowersox, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Terry and Teresa Bowersox, of New Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law, William A. Criswell and Molly, of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Kratzer.
Friends and relatives will be received from noon to 2 Monday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 2 with the Rev John H. Shaw III officiating.
Burial will follow in Mazeppa Cemetery.
