SELINSGROVE — Linda Lee MacRoy Klingensmith, 76, died at her home in Selinsgrove on Wednesday, July 3, 2013.
Linda was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Amsterdam, N.Y., a twin daughter of Helen Katherine Hartley and John Francis MacRoy.
Linda graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in English and earned a master’s in English from the University of Pennsylvania, where she met her husband, Paul. They were married Aug. 22, 1959, in Fort Plain, N.Y., and remained together for 51 years.
Linda taught at the Church Farm School in Exton before accepting a position as assistant professor of English at Susquehanna University, where she remained until her retirement in 1994.
Linda was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening and her cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa, and her grandson, Everett Chappell, both of Orangeville; a niece, Susan Williams and her family; and a nephew, Matthew LaDuke and his family.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, who died Sept. 20, 2010; her twin sister, Mary Jo; and her daughter, Rachel.
A memorial service and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at All Saints Episcopal Church, North Market Street, Selinsgrove.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in Linda’s honor be made to All Saints Episcopal Church.
