Frank David Bell Jr., 88, Millmont

MILLMONT — Frank David Bell Jr., 88, of 104 Windy Acres Lane since 2010, formerly of Livingston, N.J., entered into rest at 6:32 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.

He was born Oct. 12, 1924, in Newark, N.J., a son of the late Frank D. Sr. and Elsie (Schaal) Bell. On June 4, 1966, he married the former Frances Ann Polizzotto who preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 2010.

He served as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class in the Navy during World War II from May 6, 1943 until his honorable discharge Feb. 25, 1946. Frank was decorated with the American Theater, Asiatic Pacific Theater, European Theater, and Victory Medals. He also received a medal from France for his involvement in the invasion of Normandy.

Frank was employed as a carpenter and worked in home construction with his father in Livingston.

Frank was a member of the First Baptist Community Church, Parsippany, N.J., where he served as a deacon, along with his wife, Frances. After moving to Millmont, he attended the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 0620, and the Knee Deep Club, Lake Hopatcong, N.J.

Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, country western music, playing the banjo, dancing, roller skating, bowling, and trains.

Surviving are one daughter, Susan L. Epley and her companion, Billy Nees, of Millmont; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Laura Bell, of Cypress, Calif., and Gordon and Terri Bell, of Linvingston; one sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Duke Gabriel, of Lancaster; one grandson, Doug Epley, of Millmont; four great-grandchildren, Brian, Mia, Skyylar, and Blaze; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Shearstone.

Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 with the Rev. Mark Messner officiating.

Burial will be in the Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, N.J.
