SPRING MILLS — Mabel S. Zerby, 89, of Spring Mills, passed from this life at Centre Crest Nursing Home on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.
She was born Aug. 10, 1923, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Earl F. and Abbie (Boop) Showver. On May 23, 1974, she married Guy E. Zerby, who survives at their home in Spring Mills.
Mabel was a 1941 graduate of Lewisburg High School.
She was employed at Moore Business Forms in Lewisburg, retiring after 25 years of service.
She attended Salem United Church of Christ , Spring Mills.
Mabel and Guy enjoyed traveling and going to motorcycle races.
In addition to her husband, Mabel is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra K. and David Stauffer and Beth J. and Donald Manley, both of Mifflinburg; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Regina Kreps, of Spring Mills; six grandchildren and their spouses, Tom and Ellen Stauffer, Andrew and Terri Stauffer, Jason and Erin Manley, Abbie Manley, Kyle Kreps and Justin and Christina Kreps; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Hazel Jefferson, of Milton, Martha Mertz, of Lewisburg, and Helen and Ernest Sauers, of Mifflinburg.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Showver, and one sister, Alice Frederick.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to noon Wednesday at Salem United Church of Christ, Route 45, Spring Mills, followed by the funeral at noon with the Rev. Leigh Pick officiating.
Mabel will be laid to rest in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery.
