Pauline S. Ray, 64, Sunbury

SUNBURY — Pauline S. Ray, 64, of 135 Pennsylvania Ave., passed away at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in the emergency room at Sunbury Community Hospital after she was suddenly stricken ill at her home.

Pauline was born in England on Aug. 2, 1948, a daughter of Sylvia Bridges and the late Allan Bridges.

Pauline lived in Sunbury since 1973 and worked as a cook at The Hotel Edison. She also worked for The Daily Item as a newspaper carrier.

She attended school in England and enjoyed playing bingo and fishing.

Surviving in addition to her mother, who lives in England, are two daughters, Julie Wiest and husband Randy, of Kulpmont, and Shirley McCloud and husband Jeffrey, of Sunbury; her companion, David Baker, who resided with her; five grandchildren, James Ray, Maryalice McCloud, Emily McCloud, Nicole Sarvis, and Amanda Sarvis; six great-grandchildren, Lindsay Sarvis, Stormy Ressler, Faith Sarvis, Charlotte Sarvis, Joey Hunt, and Mason Long; two sisters, Jennifer Hamilton, of Idaho, and Shirley Dodd Clark, of England.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Lawes, in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Olley-Gotlob Funeral Home, 539 Race St., Sunbury, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Gunter, pastor of Otterbein United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be given to the donors favorite charity in Pauline’s memory.
