KREAMER — Barbara A. Moyer, 65, of Kreamer, entered into rest on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Jan. 12, 1949, in Richfield, a daughter of the late Gilbert M. Swartz and Marie (Moyer) Swartz Sassaman and stepdaughter of the late Raymond K. Sassaman. She was married for 44 years to James N. Moyer, who survives.
Barbara was a 1966 graduate of East Juniata High School.
She retired as manager of the Mustard Seed Thrift Store, Selinsgrove, and previously was employed at Blough Wagner Dress factory, Middleburg, and Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove. She also was a caregiver for local families.
She was a member of the Reliance Hose Company No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary, Middleburg, where she served meals and assisted at the carnival.
Barbara loved to garden, travel and was known as a people person. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tom and Kimmi Strawser, of Selinsgrove, and Kevin R. Moyer, of Middleburg; one granddaughter, Milania; and one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ronald Miller, of Sunbury.
She was preceded by her first husband, William Strawser, and one brother, Roger Swartz.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, with her father-in-law, the Rev. Norman Moyer, officiating.
Burial will be in Richfield Union Cemetery.
