EASTON (AP) _ Prosecutors are dropping the remaining charges against a former New Jersey public school teacher cleared of attempted homicide in the stabbings of three men at a Bethlehem Township party.

Christopher Davis of East Stroudsburg was cleared by a Northampton County Court jury in November of attempted homicide and other charges in the June 2006 fight. He was freed on bail after 17 months in prison.

The 35-year-old Davis says partygoers accosted him in the driveway outside the the home of a teenager whose parents were away, and he used his knife in self defense. Two people required surgery for their wounds.

Northampton County Assistant District Attorney Bob Eyer says an order has been prepared withdrawing five remaining charges on which the jury deadlocked.
