Parents of slain pregnant woman forgive accused Kia Johnson's son was released from the hospital Wednesday, though the hospital refused to say where the boy was taken. Eric Johnson said he's seen his grandson, named Terrell Kian Johnson after Kia, and that the infant is doing well. He refused to discuss the child's custody situation; the man identified as the boy's father is in jail awaiting trial on a burglary charge. On Thursday, an Allegheny County judge ruled Curry-Demus competent to assist in her defense, despite a psychiatrist's testimony that she is a paranoid schizophrenic. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 22. Curry-Demus' attorney, Angela Carsia, said her client intends to plead not guilty.
