LEWISBURG — Packwood House Museum will hold its 28th Annual Champagne & Orchids Dinner on April 5. Raffle tickets for the fundraiser are now on sale in the Museum’s Tour Center at 15 N. Water St., Lewisburg, for $5 each or six for $25. The winning ticket holder will share a seven-course gourmet meal with seven guests in the Museum’s dining room. The drawing for the raffle will be held on March 22 at 4: p.m. in the Museum’s Tour Center.
Created and served by the students of The School of Business and Hospitality at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, the evening will start with champagne and hors d’ oeuvres in the Museum’s reception room, including beef carpaccio with watercress garnish, crostoni with olive tapenade, and crabmeat- and fresh herb-stuffed mushrooms. A soup trio of red pepper bisque, chicken and wild rice, and duck consommé and a salad course of romaine hearts with “Green Goddess” dressing will follow. After a fish course of herb-crusted cod with asparagus risotto and a poultry course of chicken roulade stuffed with apples and goat cheese with an apple cider sauce, sweet potato puree, and brussels sprouts, an entrée of apricot-stuffed pork loin with roasted tourné potato and vegetables or stuffed beef tenderloin with sun dried tomatoes, bell peppers, spinach, and grated parmesan will be served. While a dessert of banana cheesecake and champagne sabayon with chocolate garnish is being prepared, guests will be treated to a tour of the first floor of the museum by Jennifer Snyder, director of Packwood House Museum. The memorable evening will conclude as the diners return to the reception room to enjoy an aperitif and reminisce about this unforgettable evening.
All proceeds from the ticket sales benefit Packwood House Museum. Supporting this annual fundraising event offers the winner an opportunity to entertain family and friends in a unique setting at a surprisingly low cost and to sustain Packwood House Museum and its positive contribution to life in the Susquehanna Valley.
