October First Friday Pet Fashion Show Planned

— WILLIAMSPORT — In celebration of National Adopt-a-Dog Month, Gustonian Gifts and GG2 of downtown Williamsport will host a pet show to benefit the Lycoming County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 4, in the Courtyard of the Brickyard Restaurant & Pub, 343 Pine St. in downtown Williamsport. A rain date for the event is set for Oct. 5. All proceeds benefit the SPCA as part of the First Friday event in downtown Williamsport.

The show will take place in the Pine Street Courtyard Area of the Brickyard and there is no charge to view the event. Those interested in participating in the fashion show may register at Gustonian Gifts, at the Lycoming County SPCA or on their websites, www.gustonian or www.lycomingspcaorg. The cost for registration is $10 per pet. All other donations of cash or animal-related supplies will also be accepted throughout the event.  

Pets participating in the show must be friendly, licensed and up-to-date on vaccines. All participants will receive a complimentary gift bag and category winners will receive prize ribbons and additional special prizes.  

All contestants must be registered by 5:30 p.m. the night of the show. Show begins at 6 p.m. Registration forms can be obtained at Gustonian Gifts, GG2 or at the SPCA’s 2805 Reach Road Shelter. Participant’s registration form, along with the $10 entry fee must be dropped off at Gustonian Gifts or the SPCA before 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.
