Watsontown Lions selling Easter flowers

WATSONTOWN — The Watsontown Lions Club recently honored Dana Miville as Student of the Month.

Plans were made to sell Easter flowers at Amber’s Barbershop, Main Street, Watsontown, and at Fred’s in McEwensville. It was noted that the egg hunt on March 23 was not as well attended as usual due to the weather and other activities. More than 100 prizes were distributed to area children.

The club will hold its spring chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 6 in the Mansion House parking lot. Halves of chicken and two sides will be available until sold out. Tickets are being sold at Heater’s or BeeCee Hardware.

The Lions’ next meeting will be held April 8 in the Watson Inn. The program will be about Alvira, the lost town. A meeting and steak night will be held April 22 at the youth center. Several members will be helping the PSA run the cake wheel at the school fair on May 3.

People interested in learning more about Lions International or the Watsontown Lions Club can call Sharon Cawley, president, at 524-9128.
