SELINSGROVE — Kindergarteners at Selinsgrove Elementary School have an enhanced understanding of money and how to earn, spend, and save it thanks to The Northumberland National Bank. When the school approached Junior Achievement of Central Pennsylvania about providing its 10 kindergarten classes with JA’s Ourselves® earlier this year, The Northumberland National Bank quickly agreed to provide both the funding and employee volunteers to make the program a reality. Since February, 10 employees from the bank have been making regular visits to work with the students. During each visit, the JA volunteer and students read a story and complete an activity to help them learn about how they can choose to spend, save, and even share the money they earn. These early lessons lay an important foundation for the students’ future economic success.
