New Student-Run Business Project Funnels Profits to Charity

The Daily Item

— LEWISBURG — BuckSell.com, a new student-run business project formed by students at Bucknell University has made its first donation from the sale of donated items to The Kiwanis Club of Lewisburg. The Kiwanis Club will now funnel the $100 received from BuckSell.com to more than 17 charities that it supports. This partnership will benefit children locally, regionally, and around the world.

BuckSell.com raises money for charity by receiving donations of unwanted items from Bucknell students and staff and advertises those items for sale to others through the BuckSell.com website. Items such as used textbooks, calculators and computers, tee-shirts, are some of the items that may be donated to BuckSell.com for the purpose of supporting local charities. All sales related to these donations will be given to the Kiwanis Club of Lewisburg for distribution to its many charities.

BuckSell also provides Bucknell students and staff with the opportunity to advertise and sell items through the website at no cost (this service is not part of the donation/charity initiative). The profits from these personal items being sold by students or staff will be kept by the seller.
