MILLERSBURG -- The faculty of the Millersburg Area High School has named Carrie Feidt and Brett Forney as Students of the Month for January. These students are selected because they exemplify outstanding qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their school, home and community. This program is sponsored by the Millersburg Rotary Club.
Feidt is the daughter of Barbara and Doug Feidt, of Millersburg. She is a member of the volleyball team, art club president, conservation club, yearbook, SADD and HEROES. She participated in track, served on the prom committee and was a contestant for the Gratz Fair Queen Contest. She is a member and volunteer of the Millersburg Area Art Association and a volunteer at the Ned Smith Center. She is the class historian and she was junior and senior attendant on the homecoming court. She received Best of Show Art Award, first place and third place awards at the Millersburg High School Art Show. She was an award winner of the Millersburg High School Art Club Art Show, Gratz Fair Art Show and the Susquehanna Bank Art Show. She is a freelance artist and is also a Girl Scout. Upon graduation she plans to attend Harrisburg Community College prior to transferring to a four year college majoring in art education and/or nutrition.
Forney is the son of Jodi and Gary Forney, of Millersburg. He is a member of the conservation club and president of the archery club. He was a member of the football team for three years. Upon graduation he plans to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology for an associate degree in forestry and a bachelor degree in technology management.
