MIFFLINBURG — Mifflinburg Heritage & Revitalization Association is the owner of several significant historic buildings in Mifflinburg including the Elias Church, the little log house and the Weirick House. While the log house and the Elias Church have undergone significant restoration and renovation, the Weirick House as of yet has not. MHRA will host a fundraiser with proceeds to go toward the Weirick House restoration. Winterfest in the Historic District will be selling schnapps and hot beverages, including Irish coffee and hot buttered rum, at the Weirick House.
Also happening in the historic district will be a quilt show at the Elias Church by the Coffeehouse Quilters. The Union County Bicentennial Committee will also be at the Elias Church with memorabilia for sale and craft demonstrations. The church is also open for tours. On Saturday at 4 p.m., the Elias Church will host Black Tie who will provide a musical performance. This is free of charge to the public.
The Mifflinburg Buggy Museum’s Visitors Center will be open ($2 admission) and will have an O gauge and Lionel train display up and running along with Thomas the Tank Engine trains for the kids to play with. On Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m., the museum will host local authors who will be doing book signings.
The Weirick House fundraiser will be held from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 13 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec.14 and 15. For more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 966-1666 or 966-0888.
