Students of the Month for May

— MIFFLINBURG -- The Mifflinburg Area Middle School announces its selections for the P.R.I.D.E. Award for the Student of the Month for May. Students are selected by their teachers on the criteria of Positive attitude, Respect for others and regular attendance, Involved in at least one extra-curricular activity, Demonstrate honesty and integrity, and have Enthusiasm for learning. At the awards assembly this week, each recipient will receive a certificate, cash prize, and Lions Club memento from the Millmont West Union Area Lions Club, the sponsor of the Student of the Month Award.

Ainsley Bair, sixth grade, is the daughter of Megan and Ken Bair, of Mifflinburg. Science and communication are her favorite subjects in school, where she is a member of the school band and the Art Club. She is in the youth group at her church, plays the piano, and enjoys playing soccer. Other things she likes to do are sewing, shopping, and spending time with friends and family. In the future, Ainsley would like to be a missionary.  

Garrett Becker, seventh grade, is the son of Michael and Gretchen Becker, of Mifflinburg. In school, social studies is his favorite subject, and he sings in the chorus. He enjoys playing baseball, basketball, football, and AAMA Tae Kwon Do. Garrett likes to go hunting and fishing, and in the future, would like to be a game warden or a forester.

Bekki Weller, eighth grade, is the daughter of Tony and Amy Weller, of Mifflinburg. Her favorite subjects in school are math and science, and she plays soccer, basketball, and cross county. She plays with the NCP (NorCenPenn) Soccer and STN (Second to None) Soccer teams, and the Mifflinburg Swim Team. She enjoys spending time at the family cabin and with her friends. In the future, Bekki would like to be an athletic trainer.
