MILTON -- Julia Spear has been named the Outstanding Senior of the Month for January at the Milton Area Senior High School. She is the daughter of James and Donna Spear, of Milton.
Her school activities include being president of student government, historian of National Honor Society, secretary of Interact, and a member of the Spanish Honor Society. She is also active in girls varsity tennis, girls basketball statistician, and participated in the spring musicals “Hello Dolly” and “Children of Eden”.
Her awards and achievements for tennis include being named the most improved in 2011, receiving the coach’s award in 2012, and three varsity letters. She also received three varsity letters for basketball.
She is employed by Becky’s Soft Serve.
Spear plans to attend college majoring in secondary education — chemistry.
Thomas R. Hackenberg III has been named the Rotary Student of the Month for January at the Milton Area Senior High School. He is the son of LuAnn Hackenberg, of Milton.
His school activities include automotive technology curriculum, chorus, and Song Fest.
His awards and recognitions include Valvoline Certificate of completion motor oil basic training, SP2 hazardous materials training, and SP2 mechanical safety training. He will attain his state inspection license by the time he graduates high school.
Hackenberg will attend Pennsylvania College of Technology majoring in auto body/inspection mechanic.
