Bring the Family to the Visitors Bureau to See a Model Train Display

The Daily Item

— LEWISBURG — On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Dec. 13-15, bring the kids to see a free model train display at the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau, located at Route 15 and Hafer Road, next to Country Cupboard in Lewisburg. There will be operating trains from today — and even some trains that you may remember from your childhood.

The display will be installed by the Loose Ties Model Railroad Club and will be open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Drawings will be held for two model train giveaways. This year, we will be giving away two Lionel Pennsylvania Flyer complete train sets with train, track and transformer. The train sets are sponsored by the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau, Loose Ties Model Railroad Club, English Model Train Supply, and T&J Train Junctions. Any child under 14 who is accompanied by an adult will be given a raffle ticket.

Adults are also welcome to bring a train that they may have had as a child, and the Loose Ties Model Railroad Club will gladly run them on the layout.

There is no admission fee for this event, although donations will be accepted.
