Athlete Seth Jarrett, of the Union County Special Olympics, had the opportunity to carry and light the torch at the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Summer games opening ceremony in June.
The ceremony was held at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park near the Penn State University campus. The torch began its journey at PNC Park in Pittsburgh with the “Be a Fan” Torch run, which is a three-day, 150 mile run from Pittsburgh to Penn State. Hundreds of runners representing law enforcement officers from across the state participated in the run to kick off the 44th annual summer games. Seth was honored to have the opportunity to carry the torch!
