MILTON — According to the CDA Council, a Child Development Associate (CDA) is an individual who has successfully completed the CDA assessment process and has been awarded the CDA Credential. CDAs are able to meet the specific needs of children and work with parents and other adults to nurture children’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth in a child development framework.
Beginning next month, the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit is offering a CDA course to the public. Earning a CDA credential will help participants learn to establish a healthy learning environment for children while advancing their physical and intellectual competence, learn to support the social and emotional development of children and how to establish productive relationships with families, and gain professional opportunities and motivation for further educational opportunities while advancing in the early education profession.
Classes for this program begin Sept. 3 and will be held Tuesday evenings over a period of 30 weeks at the CSIU in Milton.
For additional information or to register, contact Ann Garges at the CSIU at (570) 523-1155, ext. 2240 or firstname.lastname@example.org by Aug, 23. There will be a $100 registration fee.
CDA classes at the CSIU are funded by the South Central Regional Key (SCRK) at Child Care Consultants (CCC).
