LEWISBURG — Environmental Education and Stewardship Staff from R.B. Winter State Park are offering P.L.A.C.E., an interactive course about land use and developing communities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9 at The Public Library for Union County.
This program is designed for teachers in grades 6-12, and is based on the Pennsylvania Land Choices curriculum. While exploring social studies, science, engineering, civics and environmental studies, the curriculum encourages students to become involved in their community and to conserve its natural and historic resources. ACT 48 credits are available for participants.
Registration is required by March 1 by calling the R.B. Winter State Park office at 966-1455. Coffee and tea will be available; however, participants must supply their own lunches.
This program is one of the ways in which The Public Library for Union County supports the PA Forward Initiative by providing Civic and Social Literacy opportunities for learning.
