LEWISBURG — Union County treasurer, Diana Weikel, informs all dog owners that Department of Dog Law Enforcement will be canvassing all of Union County for current 2013 dog licenses.
Pennsylvania State law mandates that all dogs three months of age and older be licensed by Jan. 1 of each year. The Department of Dog Law Enforcement may charge fines up to $300 for violation of this law plus court fees.
Cost for regular license: $6.45 for spayed or neutered and $8.45 for female or male.
Seniors, 65 years of age and older at the time of application, and disabled persons (receiving disability insurance or Supplemental Security Income: $4.45 for spayed or neutered and $6.45 for female or male.
Dog licenses can be purchased online at www.unioncountypa.org or www.padoglicense.com (there is an additional $2 fee per transaction), at the Union County treasurers office in the Union County Courthouse, Lewisburg, or at Boop’s Sporting Goods, Vicksburg (extra charge of $.50).
