SUNBURY — Amateur Radio Examinations by the Sunbury Munificent Amateur Radio Testing Society (SMARTS) will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 19 in the second floor conference room in the Degenstein Library, 40 S. Fifth St., Sunbury.
All applicants (including minors) must bring two means of positive identification. A valid US drivers license and a utility bill is sufficient, however other suitable ID may be used such as a valid passport, military ID or other government ID, credit card bill, original social security card, valid pilot’s license, etc. Licensed applicants must bring the original, and one photocopy, of their license or other photo ID. They must also bring the original and a copy of any recently earned Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination (CSCE) needed to prove current status. Copies are available at the library for a fee. A testing fee of $15 will be charged for all tests in accordance with ARRL guidelines, cash only.
The long term plan is to do this bi-monthly, on the third Saturday of the month.
