MILLERSBURG -- The faculty of the Millersburg Area High School has named Anne Simcox and Patrick McFadden as Students of the Month for April. These students are selected because they exemplify outstanding qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their school, home, and community. This program is sponsored by the Millersburg Rotary and Civic Clubs.
Simcox is the daughter of Marilyn Simcox Martin and David Martin, of Millersburg. She is a member of the conservation club, environmental club, SADD, National Honor Society, Youth and Government and Entomological Society of Pennsylvania. In the community she is a member of Millersburg Assembly of God where she is a children’s church teacher and is a volunteer with the church’s food bank. Upon graduation she plans to attend Millersville University to major in biology.
McFadden is the son of Lisa and Kevin McFadden, of Millersburg. He is a member of the golf team and also played baseball. He is a member of the environmental club, Careers in Health Club, SADD and HEROES. He is president of the Environmental and Careers in Health Club and vice president for SADD. He attended the University of Pittsburgh Health Career Scholars Academy and attended the National Youth Leadership forum on medicine at Villanova University. In the community he is a member of the Millersburg Fire Company and is a certified Emergency Medical Technician. Upon graduation he plans to attend Penn State University to major in nursing with the goal of becoming a flight nurse or critical care transport nurse.
