MILTON — A group of young mothers recently gathered to preserve special moments and memories in their lives.
Twenty-three students in the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit’s (CSIU) Project ELECT (Education Leading to Employment and Career Training) created scrapbooks to record events that will one day be memories.
While filling pages with photos, stickers and other decorations, the students chatted with each other and shared scrapbooking techniques and ideas.
“It’s fun to get together at events and talk to the other girls,” said Bridget Ayala of Sunbury.
Project ELECT is a counseling and instructional program for pregnant and parenting teens (mothers and fathers) in high school or alternative settings up to age 22. The program provides intensive case management, health education, child development, parenting skills, training, career awareness and job-readiness training.
