Air Force Airman Zachary R. Horne graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Horne is the son of Michele and Leo Hill, of New Columbia, and David Horne, of Hughesville.

He is a 2011 graduate of Hughesville High School.



Air Force Airman Ryan A. Lahr graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Lahr is the son of Angela and Lee Lahr, of Milton.

He is a 2012 graduate of Milton High School.

Kevin Thomas Demko, of Kulpmont graduated from The University of Scranton’s ROTC program and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army during the Jesuit university’s commencement exercises. Demko was assigned to active duty in the Dental Corps.
