MILTON — T-BIZ, or “Teen Business Innovation Zone”, a 12 session teen entrepreneurial training program, will begin again at the TIME Jungle Teen Center on Wednesdays, March 19 through June 4 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The free program is for middle and high school students and will teach teens how to run their own small business, called a “microbusiness”. It will also teach them basic things about money, such as how to manage a checking account, how to use credit cards with caution, and how to make out a budget.
“A microbusiness is an excellent model for teens”, said Lois Passi, who will teach this T-BIZ session. “The business is small, requires little to no start up funds, allows for flexibility, and can be brought to an end very easily. Examples include babysitting, offering music lessons or doing yard work. The business is small and manageable, yet it provides an opportunity for someone to learn the basics about how to run a business properly.”
The TIME Jungle Teen Center features a snack bar and game room area and is located at 139 S. Front St., Milton. It is a program of TIME – The Improved Milton Experience.
