Seeking musically talented volunteers

WATSONTOWN — An orphan outreach project launched in September is now accepting names of musically talented volunteers to participate in its first fundraising event.

The Father’s Hope Kickoff Fundraiser Concert will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at Revival Tabernacle, 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown.

Father’s Hope is a Milton-based project created to ship fun, comfort and care items to orphanages around the world.

The concert is designed to be a fun evening of fellowship for the entire family and will feature local residents in or near their teens and 20s sharing their musical talents, and love of Christ, with the community.

The concert will be free to attend and free to participants. A free-will offering will be accepted to support the mission of Father’s Hope. Donations of small stuffed animals will also be welcomed at the event.

Any individual or group of musically talented Christians, in or near their teens or 20s, are welcome to participate in the concert by performing a Christian song or two.

Those interested in performing, or for more information on the concert, should email by the end of January.

Father’s Hope is working to engage youth, young adults, churches, youth groups, organizations and other volunteers in fun projects designed to show love to the orphans of the world, and to support the outreach.

In just the first three months of the outreach, several thousand small stuffed animals have been donated by the community. Of those, nearly 1,000 were shipped or personally delivered to orphanages in Haiti, Honduras and to a Lewisburg-based Christian adoption agency in time for Christmas.

Additional stuffed animals will be shipped or delivered to orphanages around the world in the coming weeks.

Local youth have also been creating hand-crafted cards to be delivered to orphanages, along with the stuffed animals.

Organizations, churches, youth groups and volunteers from across the community are welcome to become involved with Father’s Hope.
