TURBOTVILLE — Warrior Run Woman’s Club, affiliated with the General Federation of Women’s Club, recently sponsored an arts contest in the Warrior Run schools. Cindy Troutman-Myers announced the student winners of the poetry and short story contests, and the photography contest winners for both students and club members.
Poetry winners in third grade were first place, Braedynn Berger, and second place, Kelsey Shrawder. Kailey Betz, Tyler Leighow, and Austin Coup took first, second, and third place respectively in middle school; and Rebecca Lapp, Blyssalyn Beiber, and Lindsay Hartman were awarded first, second, and third at the high school level.
In the short story category, elementary winners were first, Kayleigh Bausinger; second, Katlyn Brady, and third, Madilyn Kelchner. High school winners were Rebecca Lapp, first place; Emily Willow, second; and Cory Snyder, third.
Under the Art category, middle school students Valorie Cerrone, Abigail Neamand, and Shawn Pfleegor took first second, and third place. High school winners were Taylor Annulli, Aarika Buck, and Cassandra Vanatta. Annulli was also awarded first place at the North Central District Arts day.
In the photography contest, middle school students Bryce Kessler and David Myers were awarded first and second places in the Still Life category, and David Myers took first and Bryce Kessler took second in the Living Things category.
High school photography winners were Andrew Myers, first in both color and black and white Still Life and Living Things categories, and Laura Kessler, second in both categories. Myers also took first at the district level in the Still Life category.
In the Scenic division, Andrew Myers took first in color, and second in black and white; Laura Kessler took first in black and white and second in color.
Club members who entered items were Cindy Troutman-Myers, Julie Tyson, and Amanda Johnson. Troutman-Myers won first place at the district level in both Living Things and Scenic black and white categories.
