MIFFLINBURG -- Three Mifflinburg Intermediate students have recently been selected by their homeroom teachers to receive the Kiwanis-sponsored ASPIRES award for the month of April. According to Principal Scott Zimmerman, this award is given to those who have shown kindness, a positive attitude, respect, willingness to include those with differences, a drive for school success and supporting safety in our schools. The award will be given at the school’s end-of-the-year assembly and will include cash and a certificate from the Kiwanis Club.
In Mrs. Finnerty’s third grade class, Jamison Greiner, son of Chad and Tonya Greiner is the recipient. Jamison’s favorite class is gym. Outside of school, he likes to play with his dogs and in his tree house. He also likes to play soccer and collect coins. He would like to become a pro football player.
The fourth grade student chosen, Kiana Wenrick, is in Mr. Alexander’s homeroom. She is the daughter of Yana and Jasper Wenrick. Kiana’s favorite class is gym. She likes to swim and go camping with her grandparents. Kiana would like to become a teacher and a realtor.
Mara Shuck, daughter of Kris and Chasity Shuck, represents the fourth grade in Mrs. Snayberger’s homeroom. Her favorite class is gym. When not in school, she likes to hang out with her friends, play soccer and basketball and play on her i-Pad. Mara would like to someday become on architect.
