Auction Nets $3,186 For PACFI

SUNBURY — Juniors Kayla Gordon and Kenya Graham coordinated the Annual Pennsylvania Cystic Fibrosis, Inc. (PACFI) Chinese Auction that netted $3,186 for the organization. The two Shamokin students planned and coordinated the event as their senior project. The event was held at the VFW in Sunbury.

“We think Kayla and Kenya did an outstanding job with this event,” PACFI President Betty Hollenbach said. “We really appreciate their efforts, and we’re grateful to all the area merchants who donated over 400 items for the auction.”

Kayla was inspired to do the auction because her six year-old brother, Ryan, has cystic fibrosis (CF). Her friend, Kenya, agreed to help, and the entire Gordon family joined in the effort. Parents, Pete and Lisa, helped with getting prizes and listing items, and sister Tiffany served food items.
