Ag/Dairy Days to be held May 17-19 in Selinsgrove

SELINSGROVE — The SUN Area Dairy Promotion Committee will host the annual Ag/Dairy Days, May 17-19, at the Middlecreek Valley Antique Association grounds on Old Colony Road, Selinsgrove, as part of the MVAA 17th Annual Spring Show.

On Friday night at 6:30 p.m., there will be a milking contest featuring 10 local celebrities such as politicians Fred Keller and Linda Schlegal-Culver and football coaches Dave Hess and Jason Dressler. In addition, there will be free cheese sampling and kids games.

On Saturday from noon to 3 p.m., kids can enjoy fun and games with prizes as well as a pedal tractor pull at 1:30 p.m.; all events are free to children under 12. At 7 p.m., the SUN Area Dairy Princess Coronation will be held with a milk punch and cheese reception to follow. The 2013-2014 SUN Area Dairy Promotion Team will include new SUN Area Dairy Princess, Ashley Wetzel; alternate princess, Dawn Franck, and dairy misses, Tabitha Hauck, Paige Rhyne and Larissa Shearer.

The weekend will culminate on Sunday at 1 p.m. with the free ice cream sundae topped with chocolate and strawberries. Peanuts will be available as a separate topping. Additional information is available at www.mvaapa.org.
