Dining for Diabetes program offered at library

LEWISBURG — Lynn  James, a registered dietician with the Penn State Extension, will be leading a four-week Dining with Diabetes program beginning May 7 at The Public Library for Union County.

This program for adults with diabetes and their families features menu planning, food preparation, physical activities, discussions and educational materials. Lab tests will be offered to measure HbA1c levels, as well.

Cost is $40 for individuals and $55 per 2-person family. This program will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 7, 14, 21 and 28 with a follow-up class on July 30. Scholarships are available and some insurance companies may cover this cost.
