Mifflinburg Intermediate School ASPIRE Recipients for February

— MIFFLINBURG -- Scott Zimmerman, principal of the Miffflinburg Intermediate School, has recently revealed the February ASPIRE recipients. These students, in grades three, four and five have been recognized as leaders by their homeroom teachers and each will receive a certificate and cash award at the end-of-the-year assembly from the Mifflinburg Kiwanis Club. Some of the attributes that are looked for include kindness, responsibility, acceptance of differences and a positive attitude — all important in the school’s anti-bullying campaign.

Alec Klingler, a third grader in Mr. Hornberger’s room, is the son of Shauna and Troy Klingler, of Mifflinburg. He enjoys building things out of wood. His favorite subject is math and he is also active in basketball, baseball and soccer. Alec hopes to someday become a truck driver.

In Mrs. Swartele’s fourth grade class, Ryder Maurer, son of Buffly and Jeff Maurer, is being recognized. He enjoys collecting airplanes and hunting with his dad. His favorite class is math and he plays soccer for the O2 Cannons soccer team. He would like to become a professional soccer player.

The fifth grade recipient is Tiffany Heidler, daughter of Bobbie and Nate Heidler. She likes to play games with her grandmother. Her favorite class is math and she hopes to someday become a veterinarian.
