LEWISBURG — The Union County Historical Society celebrates the tradition of hunting and those “left lonely” at home with a one-day special sale on Monday, Dec. 2 at the society office in the Union County Courthouse, 103 S. Second Street, Lewisburg. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.). On sale at a 35 percent discount will be the following selection of society publications: “Union County, A Celebration of History” by Charles M. Snyder, “Rural Delivery: Real Photo Postcards from Central PA,” “A Good Start: The Aussteier or Dowry,” “The History and Magic Of Honeycomb” and “Holiday Paper Honeycomb: Collecting Guide.” Also on sale are a special grouping of Heritage local history books: “African Americans in Union County,” “Cows on the Landscape…Dairy in Union County,” “Samuel Dale 1741-1804: A Life and Estate,” “The History of the Federal Penitentiary at Lewisburg,” “The Spigelmyer Rod & Gun Club and Union County Sportsmen’s Club,” “Theodore Sterner Christ, Civil War Surgeon from Union County” plus Heritage reprints of Richard VB. Lincoln’s histories of “Kelly, White Deer Gregg, East Buffalo and Union Townships,” “New Berlin, Limestone and Buffalo Townships,” and “Mifflinburg.” Not eligible for discount, but available for regular purchase are the Arcadia pictorial history books and the new Heritage book “Water-powered Gristmills of Union County.”
