MARCH STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Leslie K. McManus, daughter of Mike and Lisa McManua, has been named Outstanding Senior at Warrior Run High School for March.
She is a member of Defender Pride, National Honor Society, and is secretary of Key Club. She is also president of the Defender Band, and participates in concert choir, field hockey, and track and field. Outside of school she participates in Anthony Township 4-H, Active Equestrian, and is a member of the Square Dancing Club.
Her awards and achievements include PMEA District and Regional Band qualifier, 4-H District Horse Show participant and place winner, and blue ribbon for square dancing at the PA Farm Show.
McManus will attend Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky., majoring in biology and environmental science.
Colby W. Haas, daughter of Bruce and Lori Haas, has been named the Milton Rotary Club Vocational Student of the Month at Warrior Run High School for March.
She is a member of National Honor Society, student council, and FBLA. She is also field hockey co-captain, and boy’s basketball team manager. Outside of school she is an indoor field hockey coach.
Her awards and achievements include placing second in health care administration at Regional level. She will be participating in States. She also organized a Pink Out for the field hockey team which raised $1,100 to be donated to breast cancer research.
Catherine E. Dyer, daughter of Ricky and Lori Dyer, has been named Turbotville Lions Club Student of the Month at Warrior Run High School for March.
She is a member of National Honor Society, student council, and is assistant editor-in-chief of the school newspaper Eagle’s Perch. She also participates in concert choir. Outside of school she dances at D&K Studio, is a Sunday School teacher, is a member of the youth group and Rockets Swim Team, volunteers at Warrior Run Fort Freeland Heritage Society, and is a dance assistant teacher.
Her awards include School Counts and Defender Pride.
She is a lifeguard at Milton YMCA and Community Pool.
Dyer will attend King’s College or Indiana University of Pennsylvania majoring in mathematics with a concentration in secondary education.
Tessa R. Coup, daughter of Randy and Tara Coup, has been named Watsontown Lions Club Student of the Month at Warrior Run High School for March.
She is a member of National Honor Society, is treasurer and editor of the “Warrior” yearbook, and is co-chairman of the service committee of the student council. Outside of school she participates in Equestrian.
Her awards include Distinguished Honor Roll, School Counts, and Defender Pride.
Coup will attend Pennsylvania College of Technology possibly majoring in radiography.
