MILTON — Nine girls will compete in the 37th annual Milton Harvest Festival Princess Pageant which begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Milton High School Auditorium.
Contestants and their sponsors are Chloe Abell, Lions Club; Sara Anspach, GFWC Woman’s Club of Milton; Rebekah Dries, Kiwanis and Key Club; Makayla Nicholas, T.I.M.E.; Miranda Pardoe, GFWC Junior Woman’s Club of Milton; Erin Sears, Milton Alumni Association; Julia Spear, Rotary Club; Samantha Stover, Montandon American Legion Post 841; and Sarah Young, Milton American Legion Post 71.
ReCreation, named as “American’s Ambassadors to hospitalized veterans, features seven Milton students in this year’s 39th edition. Two of the local performers, Mary Jacobs Reich and Samantha Rohrer, are also former contestants in the Princess Pageant. ReCreation’s theme this year is “Sing a Song of America.” The group will perform a 20-minute segment during the pageant.
Sarah Dries serves as pageant chairman, assisted by committee members Sharon Craig, Nancy Slease, and Jennifer Wakeman.
The contestants will all receive a silver charm compliments of Fedder’s Jewelers. In addition, the princess will be awarded a diamond necklace from Fedder’s and a $300 scholarship from Milton Savings Bank.
First runner-up receives $100 from the family of Shirley Loreman. One girl will be voted by the contestants and advisors as the winner of the Ben and Betty Zechman Award which is $100 and a silver charm bracelet provided by the Zechman family.
