MIFFLINBURG — Kelsey’s Dream is an organization dedicated to helping children with cancer and children in need. For years, the organization has been supporting the Nagel family, of Lewistown. There are four Nagel children, three of which have neurofibromatosis, a disease that causes tumors to grow on all nerve endings. Michaela Nagel now has to go through radiation because of a tumor developing on the brainstem.
When Kylie Kuhns, founder of Kelsey’s Dream, found out about this she wanted to do something nice for Michaela. Kylie knew Michaela was a huge Michael Jordan fan, so she began to do research on how she might be able to contact Jordan. Kylie worked her magic and contacted a few people who might be connected to Jordan’s agent, and the next day received a phone call.
Michael Jordan saw the Kelsey’s Dream website and loved the cause and what Kelsey’s Dream was doing for Michaela. He wanted to do what he could to help brighten Michaela’s spirits. He was kind enough to send Michael Jordan T-shirts, backpacks, hats and autographed photos for all of the Nagel siblings. He even sent the new Michael Jordan PS3, Michael Jordan doll and a basketball.
Kylie’s determination and efforts in addition to Michael Jordan’s kindness and generosity helped to put a smile on each Nagel child’s face.
