— MIFFLINBURG -- The Mifflinburg Area Middle School announces its selections for the P.R.I.D.E. Award for the Student of the Month for November. Students are selected by their teachers on the criteria of Positive attitude, Respect for others and Regular attendance, Involved in at least one extra-curricular activity, Demonstrate honesty and integrity, and have Enthusiasm for learning. At the awards assembly at the end of the school year, each recipient will receive a certificate, cash prize, and Lions Club memento from the Millmont West Union Area Lions Club, the sponsor of the Student of the Month Award.

John Raker, sixth grade, is the son of Mark and Angela Raker, of Mifflinburg. His favorite subject in school is math and he is a member of TSA. He is a member of the midget football team and Little League Baseball team.  He also enjoys playing basketball. John is active in the ALIVE Youth Group at Freedom Fellowship Church. He likes to go fishing and hunting, and in the future would like to be a professional football player or a fireman.

Kelsey Smith, seventh grade, is a daughter of Sam and Jamie Smith, of Mifflinburg. In school her favorite subjects are algebra and social studies. She is a member of the choir, FCCLA, Builders Club, and participates in cross country, and basketball. Kelsey is active in the youth group at her church, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. In the future she would like to be a teacher.

Natalie Beiler, eighth grade, is a daughter of Daryl and Gina Beiler, of Mifflinburg. In school her favorite subjects are algebra 2, art and gym class, and she is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She enjoys the youth group at CMF, and doing gymnastics at LARA Gymnastics Center. Natalie enjoys playing volleyball, as well as horseback riding, singing, playing guitar and choreography. In the future she would like to be a nutritionist, or a teacher, possibly serving in other countries doing mission work.
