LEWISBURG — SELINSGROVE — A 47-year-old man is being held in lieu of $350,000 bail in the Snyder County Jail after he allegedly admitted to having sex with a girl several times over a four-year period.

The alleged victim, now 14, told authorities in November that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by Kenneth E. Spriggle, of 85 Zechman Drive, Selinsgrove, since she was 10 or 11 years, court records filed by state police at Selinsgrove said.

A telephone conversation between Spriggle and the girl on Monday was intercepted in which she mentioned having sexual relations with him on six occasions and he did not deny it, police said.

Spriggle was interviewed by police Tuesday and admitted to having sex with the girl five to 10 times, court records said.

He was arraigned on five counts each of felony rape; statutory sexual assault; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child; aggravated indecent assault; corruption of minors; misdemeanor indecent assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Unable to post bail, Spriggle was taken to the county jail following the arraignment by District Judge John H. Reed. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 16.
