SHAMOKIN DAM — The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce has selected a new president and chief executive officer, according to a press release from the organization.
The new head of the Shamokin Dam-based group will be announced at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The release did not say who will be named to the position, which has been vacant since Charlie Ross resigned last June.
In March, interim chamber president Jim Barbarich said the search committee for the new chamber chief received 25 resumes, including one from a Chicago lawyer, and narrowed the candidates to five local residents.
Barbarich could not be reached for comment Monday on the coming announcement.
According to the chamber’s website, the group has nearly 800 member businesses in Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties as well as members in Harrisburg, State College and Williamsport.
