SELINSGROVE — A special luminaria ceremony to be held during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Selinsgrove will remember those lost to cancer and honor those who have survived. Luminaria will be lit at Susquehanna University on Friday, June 6, at 9 p.m. to represent these individuals.
Anyone desiring to make a luminaria donation may do so by contacting Maddy Pryor at (814) 234-1023 or by visiting www.relayforlife.org/paselinsgrove. The cost of each luminaria bag is by donation.
Each luminaria represents the life of someone who has battled cancer. It is a beautiful sight when all the bags with candles are illuminated around the track. The luminaria ceremony is a moving way to remember loved ones lost to cancer and to pay tribute to cancer survivors.
Prior to the luminaria ceremony, the Survivors Lap will be held at 8 p.m. as survivors will circle the track, surrounded by friends and family cheering them on.
Information about making a luminaria donation, forming a team or walking in the Survivors Lap is available by calling Maddy Pryor at (814) 234-1023, or visiting RelayForLife.org.
The Relay For Life of Selinsgrove is scheduled to run from 1 p.m. on Friday, June 6 through 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, and the public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
