Man’s Best Friend Supports American Cancer Society Through Bark For Life

— SELINSGROVE — They are there for every birthday, every laugh, and every tear. They are silent, constant companions when nothing is certain but a cancer diagnosis. Dogs are the unnoticed caregivers who give a special kind of support for cancer patients. The American Cancer Society’s Bark For Life of Selinsgrove is a walk for dogs and their owners to fight back against cancer at The Selinsgrove Dog Park located beside Kidsgrove on April 20. Bark For Life is a way to pay tribute to our favorite canines and raise funds and awareness to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Bark For Life is a noncompetitive walk on a preplanned route. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the walk begins at 2. Dogs and their owners can enjoy games, demonstrations and contests throughout the event.

“Bark For Life is a great opportunity to involve those four legged family members in the fight against cancer,” said Sam Weller, director of Bark For Life in Selinsgrove. “It gives us the chance to honor survivors, remember those lost and those who are still fighting, whether they are friends, family, or pets.”

Bring your favorite pooch and join the American Cancer Society for a day of tail wagging, dog treats and tricks as we help people get well, stay well, fight back and find cures.
