— MIFFLINBURG — A Mifflinburg woman is out of the hospital following treatment for critical injuries she suffered in a Aug. 11 crash in which her motorcycle companion was killed.
Geisinger Medical Center confirmed 41-year-old Lorie Oberdorf has been discharged. She was taken there for treatment after the motorcycle she and Cole Rice, 46, of Mifflinburg, were riding was struck head-on by a car on Route 204 in Jackson Township, Snyder County.
Rice died at the scene. Oberdorf was the passenger on a motorcycle. Neither were wearing helmets, state police at Selinsgrove reported.
Police said traffic violation charges will be filed shortly against Frederick Frost, 79, of Selinsgrove, who crossed into the southbound lane of Route 204 and struck the motorcycle.
Frost will not face charges of negligence, police said, as it could not be proven.
The accident occurred when Frost of Selinsgrove drifted into the motorcycle’s path. Frost, who was wearing a seat belt, was uninjured.
