SELINSGROVE — The Selinsgrove Area High School Women’s Ensemble, Honors Choir, and Mixed Chorus, directed by Katherine Bartol, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 at the Selinsgrove Area Middle School Auditorium. This concert will feature 150 voices with student soloists performing Antonio Vivaldi’s beautiful Gloria. The Gloria will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra with local professional musicians Marcus Smolensky and Christopher Para along with Ed Smith and Stacy Hostetter. Arlo Ehly, a Susquehanna University student teacher, is the guest conductor. Other Susquehanna University students and alumni will join the chamber orchestra. Music of Johannes Brahms, Eric Whitacre and Andrew Lloyd Webber will also be performed. The concert will close with music from The Lion King. Local professional percussionist Patrick Long will be accompanying The Lion King music. Student soloists featured throughout the concert include Terri Wagner, Brooke McEvoy, Natasha Simeonoff, Bridget Gerba, Emily Russell, Maggie Groce, Casey Reiland, Austin Getgen-Stroup, Samuel Bailey, Jonah Markle, Logan Harris, Emma Lewis, Benjamin Kahn, Skyla Strocko, Zachary Hendricks, and Emmanuel Little. Steven Pomykalski is the student piano accompanist.
