SELINSGROVE — A member of the Selinsgrove school board recently was awarded master school board member accreditation by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.
Larry D. Augustine, chairman of the communications department at Susquehanna University, was one of seven school board members in the state to receive the honor. Augustine has been a school board member in the Selinsgrove district off and on since 1979. He has served as liaison to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association and on the association’s governance review committee and as assistant regional director for the association’s Region 6. He recently was appointed to the board of the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit.
This is the fifth year the association has awarded master school board member accreditation. Final selections were made anonymously by a panel of past presidents of the association. Criteria for selection included board service, community engagement, advocacy and teamwork skills.
