SELINSGROVE — Market Street will play host to the area’s inaugural Halloween parade on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
“Selinsgrove Projects Inc invites the valley to the haunted happenings on Market Street,” said Chris Kenawell, local State Farm agent and chair of parade. “Come early, dine, shop, and enjoy a few beverages before nestling on the curb to watch the parade. It’s a great way to celebrate fall.”
Parade participation is free for individuals, and non-profit groups, $20 donation for businesses. Registration forms can be picked-up at Chris Kenawell’s State Farm Insurance, downtown Selinsgrove or the forms can be downloaded from the Facebook page Chris Kenawell-State Farm Agent. Completed forms can be delivered to 110 S. Market St., Selinsgrove. Registration deadline is Oct. 11.
The parade will form on High Street, begin at the corner of Bridge and Market streets, and end on Sassafras Street. After the parade, parents are encouraged to wait until the floats have reached the corner of Sassafras and High streets before picking up children.
“Our committee anticipates a positive turnout for this event. We hope to see a lot of businesses, clubs and non-profits take an interest in the excitement,” said Kenawell. “It’s nice to participate in an event that brings the community together for fun and fellowship.”
