Junior Writers’ Workshops
July 21-25 (students who have completed grades 6, 7 or 8)
July 28-Aug. 1 (students who have completed grades 3, 4 or 5)
All sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to noon
Students who enjoy writing will thrive on a full immersion in the process. They will use the creative writing process in conjunction with age-appropriate computer illustration and word-processing programs to create an original story. Attention will be given to content and ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency and the basic conventions of writing through individual and small-group instruction.
In addition to trained instructors, Susquehanna University creative writing majors will work closely with junior writers to develop and extend their skills. Given the developmental nature of this workshop and the customized experience, participants are encouraged to return on an annual basis. Experience with computers and familiarity with word processing are recommended.
Cost for the workshop is $185 per student.
All sessions of Kids’ College are held on the campus of Susquehanna University. Limited scholarships are available. Register by May 31 with a friend and each camper will receive $20 off. Both registrations must be received on the same day, in either the same envelope, online or by phone or email to qualify. Refunds will be given the first day of camp.
