COAL TOWNSHIP — Ryan Wary was a four-event winner while Drayton Laverio claimed three events as Shikellamy started the season on the right foot with a 101-49 win over Shamokin in boys track & field.
On the girls' side, the Braves were just as dominant in a 116-33 win over the Indians.
Wary won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, plus the 110 high hurdles and he ran on the winning 400 relay team. Laverio claimed the long and triple jumps, and he also ran a leg on the victorious 1,600 relay team for Shikellamy.
Treicy Cedeno, Kurstyn Pfleegor, Madeline Calderon were both triple-event winners for the Shikellamy girls in their season-opening HAC-I win.
Cedeon won the 1,600 and 3,200 in 5:34.30 and 12:01.40, respectively, and she also ran a leg on the 3,200 relay team that won in 10:54.30. Calderon won the 100 hurdles (17.60), the long jump (13-0) and she ran on the winning 400 relay team as well. Pfleegor won the 100, 200 and 400.
